HBO's Gentleman Jack Wraps Up Its First Season

    They say a rising tide lifts all boats, and that certainly seems to have been the case with HBO's spring season. With Game of Thrones drawing eyeballs to the network like a giant, fire-breathing magnet, every other show around it has managed to benefit. Veep rolled in for a strong ending to its final season. Barry may well have won Bill Hader a repeat Emmy with its superb second season stretch of episodes. And now, even as the embers have cooled in King's Landing and Game of Thrones has receded a bit from the conversation, HBO programming is still killing it. Chernobyl was a surprise ratings hit and has become the word-of-mouth success of the season. And Gentleman Jack, co-produced by HBO and the BBC was the the beeb's biggest series launch this year, earning it an early Season 2 pickup. So don't fret tonight's Gentleman Jack finale.     SERIES PREMIERE: Trivia buffs, take note. Game Show Network is issuing an implicit challenge to you with their new show: Best Ever Trivia Show. Do you dare not watch, and somehow give the impression that you are not cut out to best these trivia geniuses from the comfort of your own couch? The premise is simple: three contestants face off against three Trivia Experts. The winning player then goes head-to-head in the final round against the Expert who performed the best over the course of the show. $10,000 is at stake. Sherri Shepherd is the host.
