There have been plenty of bombshells over the course of And Just Like That… so far. Big (Chris Noth) died. Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Steve (David Eigenberg) divorced. Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) sold her beloved apartment for Aidan (John Corbett). Charlotte (Kristin Davis) almost ate in a Chipotle. At this point, it seems like anything can happen, and that has fans cooking up some theories, some of which are so bonkers that they just might be right.

Already one theory has been debunked — some fans suspected that the Season 2 finale was called “The Last Supper” because it would be the series finale. But Max announced on August 22 that the series was renewed for a third season. That doesn’t mean there isn’t more to pick apart about this season’s biblical promo or that all the fan and Primetimer staff theories aren’t true. We’ve rounded up some of the most outlandish theories before the Season 2 finale.

Carrie is betrayed by a close friend

Once again, fans are looking to “The Last Supper” for clues. The promo for the season arranges the cast in a manner similar to that of the famed painting, putting Carrie in Jesus’ position — we all remember what happened to him, right? While Carrie isn’t exactly Christ-like, she is the one bringing everyone together for one final meal in her apartment, and with 16 people (three more than at the Last Supper, it should be noted) around one table, secrets and biting remarks are bound to come out.

But who will it be? Going purely on the image, one Reddit user points out that it’s Nya (Karen Pittman) in the Judas position, Anthony (Mario Cantone) if the image is inverted. Nya and Carrie don’t seem close enough for a true betrayal, but Anthony’s history with Carrie and unfiltered attitude could set him up for a prime heel turn. Another name thrown around on Reddit is Seema (Sarita Choudhury), with fans speculating that she (somehow) has a history with Aidan. That also seems unlikely, but it sure would be juicy.

    Samantha is dying

Kim Cattrall’s highly anticipated return, albeit just over the phone, has wheels turning about what’s really going on with Samantha. One Reddit user predicts that she’s calling to tell Carrie that her cancer has returned and she’s not going to make it this time, giving the character one final goodbye. As grim as it sounds, it’s not far off from the tone set when Big died in the series premiere. And it would at least cut Cattrall a break from returning to the show once and for all — she only agreed to this scene because she didn’t have to see any of the cast and crew of the series, which makes it unlikely that she’d return again despite fans hoping for more.

Then again, would Cattrall agree to come back just to send her character off in such a dramatic fashion? It seems like a lot to ask from a person who publicly discussed being “bullied” by other Sex and the City actors. And Cynthia Nixon tempered fan expectations earlier this summer, calling Cattrall’s return a “very brief, very small cameo.” That doesn’t make it sound like the moment will be the emotional, life-altering phone call that some think it will be.

    Aidan dies

There are some writers on Twitter giving juice to the theory that Aidan was introduced just to be killed off, leaving Carrie with neither of her big loves to choose from.

”It’d actually be hilarious if Aidan died too,” Ira Madison III tweeted. “‘And just like that…Aidan also died’ would be such a good way to end this season,” Louis Peitzman replied. Both statements are posed as jokes and yet…

The series does seem to be putting as many obstacles between Carrie and Aidan as possible. Just as they were finally happy and settling down, he was called back to his family to care for his depressed, now physically injured son. Who’s to say Aidan won’t be in the next truck that crashes into a tree on the farm? Killing off every man Carrie loves would certainly be an interesting precedent for the series to set. Watch out, Berger, you’re next.

Lily and Brady have a pregnancy scare

There’s been a lot of focus on Lily’s (Cathy Ang) sex life this season, from Charlotte running around in a blizzard to get her condoms to her being spotted pantsless in Brady’s (Niall Cunningham) room. Now that these two have hooked up once, it makes it more likely that they’ll do it again, and even though they may not have been the ones sneaking away to do so at Herbert’s (Christopher Jackson) campaign event, that doesn’t mean that they won’t use other occasions to do so. Even though Lily seems like a very responsible sexually active teen who wouldn’t roll the dice without contraception, sometimes accidents happen.

Would the show pull this after giving Lisa (Nicole Ari Parker) a pregnancy and miscarriage storyline? Maybe not. But if Lily does end up having a scare, it would be the ultimate test of Charlotte’s sex positivity that’s been on display all season.

Miranda reveals Skipper is Brady’s real dad

And Just Like That… has done Steve dirty from the beginning, so at this point a huge blow like learning Brady isn’t actually his wouldn’t be the most shocking thing. Maybe the betrayal at The Last Supper isn’t an act against Carrie after all, but Steve. Miranda brought up Skipper (Ben Weber) in Episode 9, “The Last Supper Part One: Appetizer,” saying she still feels bad about how she treated him. Carrie similarly brought up Aidan’s name before he appeared again to turn her whole world upside down. Is Miranda still thinking about him because she’s been harboring a big secret?

As a Reddit user pointed out, the resemblance between Brady and Skipper is uncanny. It also wouldn’t be out of character for Miranda to strategically deploy revealing the truth right when she wants to hurt Steve the most, which very well could be when she finally sees him with another woman. And with Aidan back in the picture, it wouldn’t be too outrageous to bring another character’s ex back into the fold. Whether or not he’s actually Brady’s dad, a return appearance from Weber could be imminent.
