The two-time Tony winner, coming off of playing Captain "Sully" Sullenberger on a Jimmy Kimmel Live! musical, has landed on three different shows, including his first regular TV series starring role. He'll romance Aunt Jackie on The Conners, in a recurring role that starts with the Halloween episode. He'll play a counselor on Season 3 of Pamela Adlon's Better Things. And he'll star on Daybreak, Netflix's upcoming high school apocalypse dramedy. The Ferries Bueller's Day Off star is returning to high school, playing the cheerful, upbeat principal in his first TV series regular role. According to Deadline, Broderick's "Principal Burr knows the name of every kid in school and their favorite character to play in Overwatch. In a hashtag-filled world of #metoo and #blacklivesmatter and #timesup, Burr is genuinely trying to be part of the solution: a good guy, an advocate and ally for all. But let’s face it, kids can be monsters."
CBS has now given full-season orders to four freshman series: Magnum P.I., The Neighborhood and God Friended Me and FBI. Schumer expressed support for Rihanna after Us Weekly's report that she turned down Super Bowl halftime in solidarity with Kaepernick and the controversy he created by kneeling during the National Anthem. "Friday thought," Schumer wrote on Instagram. "I wonder why more white players aren’t kneeling. Once you witness the truly deep inequality and endless racism people of color face in our country, not to mention the police brutality and murders. Why not kneel next to your brothers? Otherwise how are you not complicit? I think it would be cool if @maroon5 backed out of super bowl like (Rihanna) Did. I personally told my reps I wouldn’t do a Super Bowl commercial this year. I know it must sound like a privilege ass sacrifice but it’s all i got. Hitting the nfl with the advertisers is the only way to really hurt them. I know opposing the nfl is like opposing the nra. Very tough, but don’t you want to be proud of how you’re living?"

Since 2003, WSU flags have been shipped around the country for alums to display on College Gameday in hopes of the university one day landing college football's signature pregame show. That day will finally arrive on Saturday, when College Gameday originates from Pullman, Washington for the first time. The WSU flag has been on display for every College Gameday show for the past 15 years, something that the ESPN show has pointed out and even celebrated in a featurette airing last year when the WSU flag was flown for the 200th straight episode.
