WATCH: The Vow Part II Teaser Dives Deeper into Abusive Sex Cult NXIVM

The second season of the NXIVM-centered docuseries will chronicle Keith Raniere's trial.
  • The wait for The Vow Part II will soon be over.

In a teaser released today, the HBO docuseries takes us back to the horrifying stories of NXIVM's survivors and promises to dig even deeper. "Imagine you spent 22 years trying to build something," says NXIVM co-founder Nancy Salzman in her first interview of the series. "But everybody thinks its the devil's work."

"His intent was never about doing anything good for any woman," says a prosecutor about Raniere. While many express their pain about Raniere's actions, others stand by him, dancing outside his prison cell and waiting for some kind of twisted miracle. "Keith is very dear to me and I know he's innocent," says one woman.

The docuseries, which told the story of cult NXIVM and its abusive leader Keith Raniere in its first season, will continue to explore the inner workings of the sex cult against the backdrop of Raniere's trial. While Season 1 saw many former members come forward with stories about their experiences in NXIVM, Season 2 will examine the legal repercussions and the cult's lasting impact. The Vow's second season will consist of six episodes and is directed by Jehane Noujaim.

"You know the best way to train a con artist?" says Raniere. "Let the games that they play work."

The Vow Part II premieres Monday, October 17 at 9/8c on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
