YouTube's programming chief admits the "YouTube Red" name was scrapped because it sounded like porn

Susanne Daniels said some of her favorite jokes on YouTube Premium's original series Ryan Hansen Solves Crimes on Television were about how YouTube Red sounded like porn. "We valiantly tried," she said of using the "YouTube Red" name, adding that it "wasn't sending the message about our offerings.... It wasn't resonating with viewers."
