Showtime orders Big Deal comedy pilot starring Vanessa Bayer

The SNL alum co-created Big Deal, first revealed one year ago, in which she plays a woman who overcomes childhood leukemia to achieve her lifelong dream of landing a job as a QVC host. The show is inspired by Bayer's own story of surviving childhood leukemia as a freshman in high school. Bayer co-created Big Deal with former SNL writer Jeremy Beiler. Former Inside Amy Schumer head writer Jessi Klein will serve as showrunner, while The Big Sick director Michael Showalter will direct the pilot.
