David Letterman's YouTube channel partners with the YouTuber who has obsessively uploaded Letterman clips

Don Giller, known as the "Donz," has been recording and/or collecting Letterman footage since Late Night with David Letterman premiered in 1982. As such, he has always been a valuable resource for Letterman staffers. In 2009, he used that collection to start a YouTube channel, featuring comprehensive collections of comedy bits and guests like Howard Stern and Teri Garr. When somebody notable dies, like Louie Anderson in January, he'll post a collection of their visits with Letterman. But since Letterman's official YouTube channel launched for Late Night's 40th anniversary on Feb. 1, Giller hasn't been posting much. It turns out that Giller has agreed to become a consultant for the Letterman channel. "The catch," he tweeted. "No more Dave-owned or (Late Night with David Letterman) uploads on the YouTubes, and no more clips of the same on the Twitter." But Giller's YouTube channel will stay intact. When one Twitter user accused Worldwide Pants of "corporate thievery," Giller was quick to point out: "They own the content. It’s their bat and ball. I’m very grateful I was given so much leeway over the years."
