Armando Iannucci's Avenue 5 will likely end after Season 2, Deadline reports.

The space comedy premiered on HBO in January 2020, just before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. The show was renewed for a second season in February 2020, but filming was significantly impacted by scheduling issues, and the sophomore season wasn't completed until November 2021.

As a result of the delay, the cast — which includes Hugh Laurie, Josh Gad, Zach Woods, and Rebecca Front — has been released from their contracts. Several cast members have moved on to new television and film projects, meaning fans of the series will have one more season to enjoy before Avenue 5 calls it quits.

The first season of Avenue 5 is available to stream on HBO Max.
