“Sometime we think if X happens, everything will be all right: ‘Once Trump is gone, once the pandemic is over, things will be fine,'” showrunner Bruce Miller says of the season finale. “But life doesn’t work that way.” He adds: "In our perception of things, a desire for revenge and a desire for justice are very close to each other, and one is considered quite noble and one is considered quite injurious. I don’t know which one June considers herself on a quest for, but I would say, it probably, to me feels more like a quest for justice than just a quest for revenge."
