Oscars will be Zoom-free

Nominees who choose not to attend this year's ceremony, which will be held at L.A.'s Dolby Theatre and at Union Station, won't be able to accept their awards via Zoom, producers said in an email to attendees. “We are treating the event as an active movie set, with specially designed testing cadences to ensure up-to-the-minute results, including an on-site COVID safety team with PCR testing capability,” the producers wrote. As for the dress code, producers said: "We’re aiming for a fusion of Inspirational and Aspirational, which in actual words means formal is totally cool if you want to go there, but casual is really not."
