Mendler was pursuing a graduate degree at MIT when producers came calling to reunite her with her former NBC co-star Morin after he submitted a tape of them together. Mendler will play Dennis Quaid's daughter and Morin will play her musician boyfriend on the Netflix holiday-themed comedy series.
