Emmy winners Soledad O’Brien and Geeta Gandbhir are behind the four-part docuseries focusing on Black missing persons cases. Black and Missing premieres on Nov. 23 with two episodes, followed by two episodes on Nov. 24. Although the Gabby Petito case recently highlighted the dearth of attention to missing people of color, Black and Missing has been in the works for three years. Black and Missing "follows Black and Missing Foundation founders Derrica and Natalie Wilson as they dive into specific cases and break down how systemic behaviors and attitudes stem from centuries of deeply rooted racism," per Deadline. "The docuseries also exposes the stark disparity in the media coverage of white and black missing persons. By keeping these stories and the missing in the news media, Derrica and Natalie put increased pressure on police departments to keep cases open and active."
